Travel After Covid-19
We are desperately wished to get away from the coronavirus pandemic. If we really want the feeling of being free again than we need to adapt this new world. Injections of Pfizer/BioNTech as well as Indian and Russian vaccine have started in dozens of countries which is giving the ray of hope for travel in 2022. “2022 is definitely shaping up to be a year for make-up vacations,” says Aanchal Gandhi, Ovation Travel Group’s vice president. The Skyscanner.com has seen a jump in searches of “travel in July” by 94%.
Our new travel plans have changed in so many ways. A lot of things have been added to the list. Now a vaccine certificates, Vitamins tablets, mask, sanitizer and Small Oxygen spray taken into account with other required list, and none of this could be ignored for a smooth travel experience. Though it’s not advisable to travel internationally and certain restrictions are placed within certain nations now, the domestic destinations or nearby weekend outings are a viable option for travelers. This is a great opportunity to learn and explore your own country or state.
A survey conducted by the market research institute YouGov in last December, which shows that 40% of respondent said they planned to travel within their own country in 2021. This year, the attraction of a vacation destination depends on the number of coronavirus infections, local destinations rate as well as the safety requirements. A safety aspect, which played a minor role, has become more important for wanderer.
Currently, Hiking, Biking or camping is a new popular trend in travel industry. Travelers increasingly relied on Farm Stay, Weekend Villas, Vacation Homes and forest campsite for accommodation instead of big hotels. Agro tourism or Eco tourism was already experiencing rising demand before the coronavirus hits into the world, and the pandemic acted as a catalyst for it. This trend will continue not just this year but beyond the pandemic. Many people have changed their travel behavior and started to explore local destinations which they hadn’t considered before.
At a time when we are having more conversations about health, immunities and wellness, it is only natural that our travels will reflect just that. Travel is not optional. One should view it as an essential part of life. The pandemic of coronavirus not just affects physically, economic recession and cost of medicals have negatively affected many people’s mental health. A KFF Health Tracking Poll from July 2020 also found that many adults are reporting specific negative impacts on their mental health and well-being, such as difficulty sleeping (36%) or eating (32%), increases in alcohol consumption or substance use (12%), and worsening chronic conditions (12%), due to worry and stress over the coronavirus.
Traveling has tremendous impact on our mental well being, especially if we’re not used to going out of our comfort zone. Travels to new places forces us to face the unknown and think differently. One need not to spend a month in a Jungle or spend a lot of money for reaching the new destination sites, just going on a hike or camping over the weekend makes you feel different.
Admittedly, making any predictions for outcome of this pandemic, at the moment feels like looking into a crystal ball. Though we are capable to adapt this new change, we are trying hard to overcome it, but we need a lot of patience.
